C-C-C-C-Crash!

After a very, very long maintenance, Generation 15 is here! Ducats! Fomor Weapons! Merchant of Venice Storyline! Belfast Belvast Island! The Commerce System! Friendly Imps and Ogres! Like this happy guy. I can't wait to get in~ Hello loading screen! Uh. Well. Let's try that again. Maybe channel 6 is busted or something. ... Nope. My main character can't load the world. My pets work fine... and so do my Mari server characters that I never play. This is an ORZ moment. NxBoo , the assistant director (whatever that is ;) ) for Mabinogi NA was visiting the Mabinogi World IRC channel (webchat: link ) to give us all occasional updates on the progress of the update. After it went live, he tried to help all the people there who were experiencing this problem. Unfortunately, he and the GM team had been up for over 24 hours straight trying to get this update out. So, they pretty much had to give up due to exhaustion and send the info to the KR de

Fiodh Int + Shadow Cast City

Image
I bought Arrow Revolver page 8 a week ago, so now it's time to hunt for page 9.  There are ten pages total, by the way. Page 9 only drops from the Small Moss Golem , which is the boss of Fiodh Intermediate for One.  It's the solo version of Fiodh Intermediate. (Picture "borrowed" from the Mabinogi World Wiki ) Waaaaaay back in the day, like back before pets were even released, Fiodh Intermediate was one of the hardest dungeons.  I remember volunteering to go into the 4-person version with Reverie and, umm some other old friends on Mari, I don't remember who.  All I remember is Reverie got an Honorable-enchanted wooden blade from it which was actually a pretty good item back then. And I also remember that the dungeon was hard as balls!!  We wiped out so many times, but the challenge was great and we had a lot of fun.  But I never volunteered for it again. So I wasn't looking forward to trying it again, especially the solo version. Vincent and I h

Flame Horse

Image
Vincent and I got our flame horses now. Pretty awesome pet, actually. The boost skill makes it run significantly faster than the thoroughbred, at leasy until it runs out of stamina; then it's the same speed. It's all thanks to a certain giant lady from Ruairi ch5. She knew pretty much all the answers from the True/False quiz event from all the times she's done it. She already had 3 flame horses by the time we got our first one (this'll be my only flame horse -- I only have one char on Ruairi because my elf and giant were made on Mari when I played there). I also made a glowy friend one day. He turned out to be quite the troll, trying to trick people into going to the wrong answer. I wasn't tricked because I was following the giant. The colors for the horses are randomly decided -- you don't get to choose, sadly. Vincent's Cyial is that awesome blue. My Frankel (I wanted to name it Frank but it was taken obviously, so. Actually I wa

True/False Quiz Event

Image
Another event in Mabinogi is the true/false quiz event. Log in during the event period to receive a wings of the Goddess that will take you to the mana tunnel near Vales, the Giants' town. There will be two large boxes marked out on the ground, one red and one blue. At the top of the hour you will want to stand between the boxes to move into the correct box when the question pops up on the screen. Then, move into the correct box to answer whether the statement is true or false. Blue is true. Red is false. You only have 10 seconds to move into the correct box, so you have to be fast. If you get one wrong, you are kicked out and have to wait until the next round (next real-life hour). Every correct answer gives you a ticket you can save towards an awesome reward. The questions were submitted by players on the Nexon forums. Be warned. Some people have submitted questions with incorrect answers. Your answer may really be correct, but because of this, the game wanted

Newest Pet

A while back Mabinogi released the mounted lion pets. I didn't get one because, well, I already got Mr. Griffin . And Mr. Griffin can fly. Then there was the Crystal Deer . It runs as fast as the thoroughbred and it also flies. In both respects it's faster than the griffin. But I already have a thoroughbred, so. Faster flying didn't seem to be all that worth it, besides, I was really uninterested in Mabinogi when it came out. Also, it's kind of, well, not an impressive look for a pet. It's based on Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer, you know. Also I wasn't really into Mabinogi when it came out. Then they added the flame horses . The flame horse has auto-boost meaning it runs really fast, faster than the thoroughbred. That is, when the boost is on; otherwise it is as fast as the thoroughbred (which is still fast!). The boost takes up stamina but that's not really a big deal as far as I know. I didn't get it because I already

Shoot the Sun Event

Image
I haven't updated in forever, geez. Well, I'm playing Mabi again. NA Ruairi server. Right now there's an event I'm having fun with, the Shoot the Sun event. Every hour on the hour a giant fire sprite field boss spawns and pretty much everyone who's around punches the crap out of it until it dies. It's good for gaining proficiency on weapons since it doesn't get knocked back by any attacks. Set auto-attack on in the in-game options and watch as you just keep hitting it. Oh yeah, the game and event announcement on the website says you can't hit it with melee attacks. That's a lie. You can, quite easily. Anyone who hits it, even once, gets an item randomly chosen from its drop list. It's usually homestead farm seeds and moon cakes (a temporary buff item) but sometimes you get lucky and get an upgrade stone. Other prizes include the stronger versions of the elemental cylinders, a red/white physis lance, Birnam Plate A
