Chrono Cross Dragons

In an effort to get away from MMOs, I've been playing Chrono Cross on the PSX. It's the sequel to Chrono Trigger, a famous RPG on the SNES.

Anyway, at one point you have to win a battle with every dragon god in the game to earn their blessings. There are 6, one for each element. I took pics of them because I love dragons.

If they look bad it's because I'm playing on an emulator, although I do own the original, of course. Yay, pixelation. Also the game is ten years old, so the graphics aren't perfect. But the game is still great.

The Earth Dragon looks like ... a slug, kinda.



The Black Dragon sleeps.



Then I wake him up with rockin' music (seriously, that is part of the quest). He's not too happy.

DIGIVOLVE TO ....


The Wind Dragon looks like a ... I have no idea. A freak, I guess. Somehow reminds me of Yoda from Star Wars -- probably because he's green.



Closer look.


No wait, he's Jabba the Hut! I knew it was something Star Wars, though.

The Sky/White Dragon (he's not really white in appearance, though ...). He looks noble. The most dragonlike of them all, save maybe Black.



The four wings thing is a bit weird, though.



And my favorite, of course, the Water Dragon. He looks like a frog! And he's, you guessed it, BLUE!

Hoping I'll just walk into his mouth?

I hit him too hard. I stole a few good Deluge spells from him.


Later on, all 6 of these guys DNA Digivolve into some freaky floating island. It's messed up.

Think of how awesome these guys'd look with today's graphics.

    I've read that you can perk up the game's graphics using the proper emulator. Oh well.

Baldur's Gate 003

Previous We return to the map south of the Friendly Arm Inn to hunt the ogre that stole all those belts. We found it easily enough. It aggro'd Soma, who I moved back so he could start shooting. Then, when everyone else mobbed the ogre, it got kinda stunlocked in the trees and went down without a fight. It was very anticlimactic. I was almost hoping for Xzar to get whacked since he ran into melee range. Alas. I really thought someone was going to die. Ogres hit like a truck and could easily one-shot any of our level 1 party.  Anyway, the Ogre had two unidentified belts to bring back to the quest giver. But instead of going right back to the Friendly Arm, we explore the rest of this map, and run into these clowns. Jaheira:  There is no surrender for carrion like these.
