Siang 7th - Noon

Wait for it...

Well, that was unexpected.

Brave wildman Flimzy, who had earned his rank from his reckless attack on a hydra so long ago, fell to two hydra's coordinated and relentless attacks.

Note to self: Wildmen do not have the HP to survive two hydras.

Siang 7th - Evening

We're unsure whether the demon lord's spell on Rogutaan is working or not. Some speculate he may just have a massive hangover.

Regardless, he smote a chimera.

Bob was ordered to rest.

Dragons miss a lot, just saying.

Limelle may be a powerful warlock now, but she is still up to her old antics.

Guv'Na's magic level has earned him prestige as a wizard. May he continue to grow!

... what

So much for neutral mages being no threat since they don't have earth spells. That was the 5th-level (max level) ice spell. For comparison, Yumekai only has level 2 ice, which only does 20~30 damage.

To put salt in the wound.

29 damage to a cockatrice.

26 damage to Rogutaan.

Euld! Run away!

Aargh! There is nowhere to run!

At this point I'm thinking, "I can only save one (with Mega Restore), Euld or Rogutaan... who's it going to be?"

Not all is lost...

I can save them both! *tears of joy*

(My Mega Restore)

Bones may be in trouble, as well as Zem right next to him. They are both resting.

At least Mugenai was able to kill something this turn.

Rogutaan, Tadleer, B. Mays, and Fluffy were also hurt for massive damage, but they survived.

Siang 8th - Morning

I don't know what to say. We did not suspect the enemy enchanter to be so powerful. To lose so many men in so short a time, it gnaws at my heart. Our infirmary is not prepared for this, designed to treat only two people at once, and how exactly do you treat a fallen ghost?

And the enchanter, standing within the ranks of Aqua's army, untouchable for the moment.

He is now our priority to attack.

In good news, the warlord, now neglected by Aqua, is... well, he's just sitting there, as if he was asking for death.

His wish was granted. At least we have this small victory.

If you didn't know, earlier I had been using the helpless warlord as an exp farm for the new recruits. They got an instant level up every time they hit him.

Run away! Poor Fluffy is only 2 exp away from his class change, too.

He cast it on the same area as the Blizzard Breath and killed only Aqua's units this time.

At this point Rogutaan is being mauled by hydras and I don't think he'll last much longer.

I'm praying to Sabrina that Niah doesn't get mauled, too. We have a record of a harpy dying every battle that I want to break!

I could have her fly away and rest but I'd like to have her stay there to block the hydras from surrounding us any further.

Mugenai is making his way down to provide back up.

Another Blizzard Breath.

At least there's that? That's the second level he's got from all this torture.

He learned confusion, the level 2 version of the spell.

Uh, now Muu's in trouble. Rest!

We're going to keep going back & forth with this. Now I know how Aracna felt with his paralyzed Berserker!

Niah and Jim were sent up to distract the enemies after Mugenai.

But of course now Jim is hurting.

Niah is also hurting when you consider how easily she would fall to two hydra attacks.

But at least our luck is turning.

End turn.

Oh, uh, whoops. I, uh, forgot to Mega Restore him.

RIP Ickiren and Sairek, to my own stupidity (in my defense I was playing well past my bedtime!)
