Cela 11th

Heading north, we will have to cross a bridge. Currently, skeletons are guarding the pass.

To the northwest is a city well-guarded by wraiths, a lich, and a berserker. Well, not exactly "well-guarded" since they are well below our league.

Here's level 1 Andrew. His HP is a bit low at this point, but he's your average fighter. Comparitively, Maddimist has 137 HP, 165 Attack (with the most powerful weapon she can have) and 17 Defense. A few levels will do Andrew well.

The odd thing is he is neutral alignment; neutral units are supposed to be archers.

We liberated the city of Astea earlier, but we haven't taken a moment to give the news to its citizens until now.

The wraiths have moved fast and surrounded Susan, but she kept her cool.

+35 HP, +23 Attack, +6 Defense, and the cataclysm spell (max level earth).

Susan's final class doesn't have a name. Her sprite does not change, either.

The enemy cerberus brushes off an arrow like it is nothing.

Even with good weapons, these demon dogs are tanky.

+44 HP, +6 Attack, +1 Defense, and the ZAP spell (level 1)

Susan's class change healed her the same amount of HP she gained from it, but she could use more help.

New equipment makes a big difference.

It tried to paralyze Mugenai right on the castle, but failed.

Cela 12th - Morning

The enemies did a number on Maddimist during the nightOne of the skeleton knights regrets its attacks as Sansha puts it down.

Maddimist was given leave to rest.

Andrew got too close to two of the Cerberus's snapping heads.

He does ~80 to it and receives ~50 damage. He was already injured from an attack earlier.

Fortunately 'heart' is soon on the scene to make things better.

Somma can instantly kill dragons.

Zem is one of our hughest-defense units, but he still takes a lot of damage. You may have noticed in the last bonus update that I've been more focused on weapons than armor (see all the people with Cloth Armor). This is why. Defense just doesn't make a whole lot of difference.

Here is Mugenai.

Here is Mugenai's attack range with the Wind Shot. This is the only bow with this range.

Emergency healing.

(off screen; it was the cerberus's move)

Cela 12th - Noon

Susan liberated Loa.

How strange...

The dragon sword is very effective against dragons.

Maddimist survived the next turn with little damage because the Skeleton Warlords decided to run away (?).

I know I promised, but the Cerberus is annoying! It keeps receiving Mega Restore.

Cela 12th - Evening

The enemy necromancer made the mistaking of leading his entourage, giving us an opening we cannot ignore.

Maddimist gets the honor.

Next turn.

With the Silver Sword, Andrew is very effective against undead.

Susan stayed in Loa until night, when the people were rumored to open their doors.

Finally, a city that truly appreciates us. With everyone only up at night, it must be a party town. Too much excitement for me, though.

Notice the fangs.

Look at what he sells.

Susan reports there was nothing amiss.

This is the start of a trend.

Our archers shoot down the black bishop before it can even think about meteors.

Cela 13th

This morning sees a bottleneck at the bridge.

But it doesn't take long for us to start clearing it.

Karmak abandoned the last remaining cerberus, and through coordinated effort, it was defeated.

Ickiren is simply not feeling it today.

And thus the bridge was cleared.

Niah sits by the shore, singing a siren song.

Invye accompanies her, and together they lure the enemies into the mountains, leaving the path free for our men.

We can insta-kill wraiths. Well, they do have less than 100 HP.

Limelle is bored waiting to cross the very narrow bridge, and it shows.

(both offscreen. It seems silly to complain about camera angles in a 2D game, but...)

We can also insta-kill warlocks.

He's still not feeling it.

That's 3 misses in a row. I'm not sure what his problem is.

Bottleneck. This dragon won't see any action.

Hey! We kind of need Buklauu to cure paralysis!

At least at this point our harpies have a decent amount of HP.

If you take Amon to Loa, you get some special dialogue.

If you play the game with any other leader, there is a quest to obtain the sun stone, which you can use to change the vampires back into humans. Then you'll be given a moon stone, which you can use to evolve a clefairy is just a healing item.

The quest is disabled with Amon.

We can also insta-kill bishops, apparently.

Finally, Ickiren's attack connects.

Even enemy warlords aren't scary anymore.

Whoops. In retrospect, I should have had him fight the skeleton warlord.

Finally, Limelle aims her magic at the enemy.

+37 HP, +2 Attack, +1 Defense, learned Fire (level 1)

Same sprite as Yumekai.

Sadly, in Karmak's area, earth spells are really not that effective, so we must resort to other elements. Limelle does not have much going for her -- this Freeze (level 2 ice) does less than 20 damage.

Ickiren's feeling the burn so we put him away from everyone else so that he won't get hit by AoE if Karmak uses Hellfire.

Once again, flying units are nice.

Karmak seems a little befuddled; he cast no magic and only summoned a cockatrice. I didn't know he could even summon these.

It's not much longer before we gang up on him.

This is Ladywinter's attack (bad camera).

Dun dun dun!

Because we have to see what Squishy is up to :3
