Dark Wizard 50

With only one demon lord left, we've decided to take a short break and resupply, allowing some of our men to travel.

> Search Party

We've heard from Limelle who returned the elf-in-a-bottle to its rightful home.

"What is with you and goats? Are you zemichi?"

A wonderful reward. It seems elves aren't into naming their weapons unlike dwarves and humans.

This is the only NPC with anything new to say, aside from the next guy:

Are they ruby tears? How hard is it to make an elf cry?

A desert, you say? I wonder...

Hmm, we may have a fight on our hands. It's only right that it goes to an elf, but which one, Somma or Sansha?

> More Search Parties

There are items hidden all over the world. They are always the same item in the same place in every playthrough. You can get them while you're on the map, or afterwards in a search party.

In effect, I'm using a guide to retrieve the better items that I missed.

Back to our roots.

Goddess' Tears (in name only, I imagine). This increases a unit's magic resistance for a few turns. Might have been useful against the Warlord's Firebolt spell back when we did this map.

Broad Sword. It has 20 attack power which is not bad (remember most of our fighters are outfitted with 3 attack short swords). Would have been great to have on the very first map, too.

This map is where Sairek confronted the wind spirit some weeks ago, but our searcher is actually going to the town the arrow is kind of pointing at. It's not normally accessible from this map because it's across the sea. That's why you return on a search party; it lets you place your units almost anywhere on the map.

Merman Ship. Yes, your unit can carry his own personal boat. This allows a unit to move (very slowly) on water.

Healing Ring. We already had this from saving that one town from the volcano, but another is nice to have.

So it seems special units Andrew and Susan can go on search parties. I honestly never tried it before & assumed they couldn't.

As for the weapon, The Great Sword is decent and has a bonus vs. undead, but not as good as Andrew's personal weapon, the Silver VAMPIRE-SLAYING Sword, of course.

This is apparently the best weapon a mage can get, the Ghost Scythe. It has a chance to paralyze on attack. It has 70 attack power (!!).

I never knew about this weapon at all. We can get another one through a quest later.

I neglected to have Limelle find the items here, so we return!

Don't know how an axe can be mad. It's Aracna's weapon, providing some earth resistance. It's the best axe in the game with 70 attack power. Axes are for chaotic warriors, which we have plenty of.

Drugs! It temporarily increases a unit's movement range by a couple of hexes.

How that ended up in the middle of a mountain, I'll never know.

There is also Balm at the bottom of the map. It's a healing item.

Priest weapon with 20 attack.

Aqua's final map.

Aqua's weapon. It's a 70 attack weapon for lawful warriors. Apparently it's also extra-effective vs. enemy warriors.

Magic Stone. This is supposed to increase a mage's spell range. It's consumable, but it might be good for bottleneck situations.

Mirror Shield. 15 defense and also some magic resistance! One of the best shields in the game, I'd say. For lawful priests, though... which kind of limits its usefulness. Maybe I'll give it to 'heart'.

Ladywinter returns to the city Andrew's sword was kept.

> Pray 3 times

One of the best swords available, excepting only some special ones (Andrew's sword, etc.).

If I was really cheap, I'd exit, reenter, repeat until I had enough of these for everyone.

An armor for mages that somehow up the river.

Sheena's weapon. The best bow in the game. I always thought the WD stood for Wide because it has the best range of all the bows (4 hexes; elf bow has 3), but it's actually Wind -- which makes sense knowing Sheena was the wind demon.

Shadow Shield. 13 defense for chaotic priests. No special effects.

And that's it for the areas we've currently explored.
