Las Vegas 2009 (part 4)

We wanted to go to Red Rock Canyon in 2008, but it snowed. Heavily. Yes, in Vegas.

So we went this year (2009). Scenic pictures result. Sorry about the watermarking but it's precautionary. I do have the originals still.





















We ate at the Red Rock Canyon Resort's buffet. If you join the slot card club (every casino has a slot club) you get a hefty discount.

Highlights: It had steak fajitas and taco mix. And sushi but I don't eat that. But the fried catfish was a nice touch. Of course, it had many other things that I fail to remember right now.

Downside: I asked for the strawberry sorbet and the guy at the counter gave me lemon. But the lemon sorbet was heavenly so it was all for the best :) And you can get icecream in a waffle cone. Oh dear. Dessert is the best part of every Las Vegas buffet.

Oh! And every new member joining the slot club got anywhere from $3-500 in free slot play. Each of us, of course, only got $3. But we put it to good use anyway. I won ~$2.

Next up:  That afternoon we look at lions.

Baldur's Gate 003

Previous We return to the map south of the Friendly Arm Inn to hunt the ogre that stole all those belts. We found it easily enough. It aggro'd Soma, who I moved back so he could start shooting. Then, when everyone else mobbed the ogre, it got kinda stunlocked in the trees and went down without a fight. It was very anticlimactic. I was almost hoping for Xzar to get whacked since he ran into melee range. Alas. I really thought someone was going to die. Ogres hit like a truck and could easily one-shot any of our level 1 party.  Anyway, the Ogre had two unidentified belts to bring back to the quest giver. But instead of going right back to the Friendly Arm, we explore the rest of this map, and run into these clowns. Jaheira:  There is no surrender for carrion like these.
