Dark Wizard 29

Reports are coming in from the towns and villages we have liberated from Aracna.

Most people are grateful.

Some are not grateful. The King's son, Prince Armer, who had been in hiding in the city of Cheshire, believes he should be in charge of the army. I hate to be rude, especially to my future lord, but if he were capable of the job, we would not have had to rescue him.

This is actually just a cameo. The prince is one of the four playable leaders. In his scenario, his father dies of natural causes and then he becomes the king -- instead of the king being killed by magic and having vampire Amon take his place like in our scenario.

Even the elves of Silka are showing themselves more often.

This, however, I do not believe. The Sharktans are just a myth. They are not real.

By the way Sharktan =/= Sharkman.

Here is another myth.

One of our newest recruits was sent to search through the dried up lava for anything of value.

She came up with this. I'm not sure how useful it could be to carry around a statue just in case a volcano erupts, but then again, enemy warlocks' eruption spells are the most dangerous to us.

In Roman mythology Vulcan was the smith and fire god. Apparently it's now a winged lady.

We also had her search the ghost-inhabited ruins and ironically found a holy artifact.

This is a good armor for mages/priests, but it's also worth a pretty penny to us.

We were also told a sad tale of a woman who lost her sister.

Hopefully Aracna's defeat can give her some measure of closure. My heart goes out to her,

regardless of what some others think.

We, uh, could not afford one of her weapons.

This is another reference to Prince Armer's scenario. The weapon dealer here is Dianna, a recruitable (!) NPC in his scenario. She is actually a knight so it's funny that they made her have no skill with weapons in our scenario.

Here we have another myth.

People come from all over the world to make pilgrimage to this sacred shrine. Some of the people in our army are hoping we will visit it to receive the Goddess's blessing. I doubt she would deign to do anything for us. The work of gods is beyond our knowledge.

The desert has not become greener in any way since the shrine was built. Take that as you will.

I think our Amon will want to stay away from a Jewel of Light...

Here's a bonus thing.

The church in Cheshire is special. If you take a chaotic unit there and have it pray 10 times, it will be made into a lawful unit. Although the unit is immediately made (L) on their status, it doesn't actually count as lawful until the unit's next class change -- which is important for some special classes we'll see later.

She'll say this and a special sound effect will play.

Leaders Amon and Krystal cannot make lawful units except through this method.

There is another church that does the opposite to make lawful units into chaotic units. Leaders Robin and Armer cannot make chaotic units except through that church.

A swordsman would be valuable, regardless of his looks. Unfortunately, Enhas is in Sheena's territory, and we are making plans to attack Aqua instead. Not that we could afford another unit.

Note: We need to get through a couple of Aqua's lands before we can make progress on this swordsman's quest anyway.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this guy looks creepy.
