Cela 14th - Night

A bit of a strategy update before I head off to bed tonight. It is rather simple: two roads heading north with a mountain in between.

Our flyers are actually taking a bit of a rest. It's not safe to fly when drunk.

Yes, the king hosted quite the party last night.

Susan -- Susan isn't looking too well as a result. Must have drank too much.

Her alignment has changed to undead.

I have a glass of wine every now and then, but these young kids, they know nothing of moderation.

Ah, well, good night.

Cela 15th

Andrew ran into a spot of trouble.

Krief tried to help, but his magic does nothing against paralysis.

Speaking of magic, Susan's favorite spell is one that blows enemies away.

We spotted the skeleton up a mountain, far across the field from her.

I've decided our budget will include a new weapon for Ickiren. As a dwarf, he must be used to traditional axes rather than greatswords.

When a unit takes damage, the sprite flickers. You can't tell unless you can pause it, such as via an emulator, but the "flicker" consists of random Japanese characters.

+51 HP, +12 Attack, +4 Defense, +1 Mobility

Susan liberated the nearest village.

Strange, we haven't seen any in this area.

An interesting diversion, to be sure, but hardly worth our time. Let's get back to the war.

Link has dashed out ahead of the crowd, accompanied by Squishy.

It's hard to see at night.

I think a low hit rate is a berseker/warlord thing. Then again, our archers miss every so often, too.

Speaking of archers...

Hey, he doesn't always miss.

Priests don't make bad combatants.

It was moved up the road some.

Cela 16th - Morning

For a ninja, our friend Link is not very lithe. True, he has only been training as a ninja for about a month, but it feels like I'm always seeing him in the infirmary due to his inability to dodge an attack.

Ickiren could not quite make it in time to exact revenge.

Fortunately, Squishy is on the job.

Unfortunately, so is Karmak.

~30 damage to Kefkai

Cela 16th - Noon

We want to defeat these mages, but a skeleton warlord is guarding them, and we're having no luck removing it. It's too bad Susan is on the other side of the mountain.

Not enough to kill the wizard.

But enough to weaken it for an archer to kill!

Our troops on the western path are ready to regroup at the end of the mountain range.

Somma makes a trick shot across the mountain, taking out the eye of one of the cerberus' heads.

The greater contingent of Karmak's forces are heading our way.

Cela 16th - Evening

I wonder how many heads the goat has?

Finally, although it was only using Ice Arrow at this point.

Cela 16th - Night

It wasn't hard for Flimzy to finish off the warlord. Speaking of warlords, we ought to promote Flimzy into one soon.

Krief entered the last city in the area.

*cough* Rogutaan *cough*

Look at that jeer on his face. He's like "eh? eh? you know what I mean?"

He gives a yes/no prompt.

>Yes

>No

I thought the fire spirit was Afreet? Well, superstitions never were my forte. I guess there can be more than one spirit.

The people in this area are obsessed with griffins. Well, I guess it's nice to have a hobby.

The black bishop is struggling to survive after Kefkai put a sword in his gut.

As always, our liches have all the luck.

Magic that hits multiple targets is very profitable in terms of experience. Also, this spell, level 4 wind, hit between 120-150 on each enemy, though it helps that the dragons are weak against wind.

'heart' loves his job.

So does Niah.

Here's proof that the Ghost Scythe can paralyze and also do massive damage (considering that it's a mage wielding it).

I really wasn't sure that I should give it to Limelle since she has the max level earth spell, but in this area earth magic is rather useless.

A lich gets revenge for his skeletal pal.

Our manticores have an impromptu plan. Jim will remove the cerberus that's resting,

and Bob will take its place by Karmak.

Cela 17th

We're closing in yet again.

+58 HP, +21 Attack, +3 Defense, +2 Mobility

Yet another warlord.

Oh, yeah. This map has shafted Karmak. The top two spots above his castle are actually outside the map, so he can only use the lower four. This could also be an advantage for him because I can only surround him with those four spots (meaning I have 2 fewer units to melee him with), but we're too strong for it to stop us.

Anyway, Andrew is rather squishy so we have him run back a bit.

In terms of damage, Hellfire doesn't live up to its name.
