Cela 29th

We sent Ickiren to go retreive the water mirror at Rufus.

On the way he found a weapon.

His Black Sword has 50 attack, and this has 65.

That's right; Ickiren is not trustworthy.

But Andrew is.

Basically this is how the game forces you to recruit both special units.

Armed with the mirror, we return to face Karmak once again.

Speaking of the mirror, it seems to belong in Susan's hands. Andrew hands it over.

Cela 30th

A warlord attacks from the east.

Our harpies intercepted it.

Vespera cuts off its retreat.

Though it cost her much.

We have heard of a spring in the wasteland near Gasta castle. Susan will check it out for us.

The enchanter on the way is hardly a threat to her.

Guv'na, having mastered his lightning spell, begins developing a new tactic.

Susan discovers the spring, but there are no winged horses in this one.

We would die of old age because there is no way Karmak would actually kill us.

NOT PICTURED: 8 turns of hustling Susan north to Karmak.

Ord 3rd

Finally, Susan is ready to call on the water spirit. But first, she needs an opening to use it. Our troops work to distract the 'invincible' tiger man.

Now, while he is still weak!

And so it ends.

Yes, you have to get the summon water spirit spell to defeat Karmak. Only the mage or priest-based special unit can learn it.

There is, apparently, a way around this. In Shinobi, the ninja village, you can buy a gunpowder keg. If the ninja dies with this in his inventory, it will 'blow up' and kill whatever killed the ninja. It works on Karmak, too, but I haven't tried this myself.

Next: Some loose ends...
