Dark Wizard 47

Retaking Shire. It's a rather uneventful battle.

The boss is a simple Warlord, which we defeated on the very first map of the game. It doesn't even have Megarestore.

We hardly start out and 'heart' gets a promotion.

And maxes out his heal spell. Amazing.

Guv'Na learned the next thunder spell (level 3).

The first contact with the enemy went down without a hitch.

Freeze is very good vs. humanoids.

Oh, the warlord does have some magic.

60 damage to Bob.

Oh and then the Druid cast slow and succeeded.

I've never seen an enemy summon a Gold Chimera before. It's the final chimera class.

The Berserker goes down easily after hitting Niah for about 40 damage.

The Gold Chimera is about as much of a threat as a normal chimera.

Then Jim got paralyzed by the monk.

Next turn: we murdered everything and the warlord summoned some useless shit.

Then it bolted Mugenai.

Here's what Fire Bolt looks like in the battle scene.

This is just an example -- I didn't actually let Muu die.

Undead dragons still suck.

But at least they can tank?

Guv'Na uses his new spell. The animation on the map is the same as the previous spell.

This is our first look at Velonese, the "Dark Wizard" who is trying to revive the evil god Arliman. The flames behind his portrait move to make him look even more sinister.

We'll meet him in person when we've defeated all the demon lords.

Since that was short, here's a little more.

Search Party:

On our way back to Sheena's next castle, we sent Limelle to strike a deal with that man who claims to have an elf-in-a-bottle.

The blue crystal is what the elf king gave us a long time ago.

And then she turned him into a goat for good measure. Maybe my heart is starting to grow dark, but I approve.

Limelle will hold onto her until we can return her to the elves.

I just hope she doesn't try to turn her into a goat-in-a-bottle.

We also gave Limelle the mermaid's harp and sent her to Willis.

This sounds very abusable. That's the level 4 earth spell. It has unlimited casts, too.  We might be getting one or two of these.

This does exactly as it says. When the unit who is wearing this is attacked, some damage (not much) is returned to the enemy.

Link could be a flying ninja with this.

There are two flight modes in the game. Low altitude and high altitude. I'm not 100% on the difference -- I'll do some testing and get back to you on it later.

I'm assuming that this means that the class level affects the damage. I've never used it but it sounds cool.

For now, we'll save up our funds until I have gauged what we need the most.

What does that have to do with being stone?

There is also a unique building in this city: the smithy.

Just for laughs I tried to get him to temper the elf-in-a-bottle.

He can't temper the power staff. There's actually only a particular weapon he can temper. You'll know it when we get it.
